U.S. Treasury’s Mnuchin sent gift-wrapped box of horse manure: reports

(Reuters) – A gift-wrapped package deal dealt with to U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s dwelling in a posh Los Angeles community that was suspected of remaining a bomb was alternatively stuffed with horse manure, police informed local media.

The offer was found Saturday evening in a up coming-doorway neighbor’s driveway in Bel Air, the Los Angeles Police Office instructed the Los Angeles Moments and KNBC television, the NBC affiliate in Los Angeles. The package deal also integrated a Xmas card with adverse opinions about President Donald Trump and the new U.S. tax regulation signed by Trump last week.

Reuters could not achieve LAPD officers for remark on Sunday.

An LAPD bomb squad X-rayed the deal in advance of opening it and located the horse manure within, law enforcement told area media. Aerial footage from KNBC showed officers investigating a huge box in wrapping paper, then dumping a significant amount of what they later on identified as the manure and opening the card that was incorporated inside.

Mnuchin, who KNBC explained was not home when the package was discovered, is a former Goldman Sachs Group Inc government and Hollywood movie financier.

A road in Bel Air was closed for about two hrs, KNBC reported.

The U.S. Solution Service is also investigating the incident, in accordance to the Television station.
